For the second year running, the Zeus Protection Films team packed up our shop and headed into the Melbourne Home Show. If you stopped by to see us, thank you — the response over the three days was better than we could have hoped for, and it reminded us exactly why we do what we do.

The Demo Everyone Stopped For: Wine, Turmeric, Paprika and Lemon vs. Natural Stone
We didn’t want to just tell people our film protects stone — we wanted to show them. So right there on the stand, we ran a live demonstration using four of the most common (and most damaging) culprits found in any kitchen: red wine, turmeric, paprika and lemon juice.
On one side, we poured these straight onto unprotected natural stone. It didn’t take long for the staining and etching to set in — turmeric and paprika are notorious for leaving stubborn yellow and orange marks, red wine soaks in fast, and lemon juice’s acidity attacks the surface of the stone almost instantly.
On the other side, the same spills went onto stone fitted with our protective film. The difference spoke for itself: the liquids sat on the surface instead of penetrating it, giving people time to wipe them away before any damage could take hold.
For anyone who’s ever watched a beautiful marble benchtop pick up a permanent turmeric stain from a curry night, seeing this side-by-side really drove the point home. This is exactly the kind of everyday accident our film is built to guard against.
A Showcase of Stone
None of this would have looked half as good without real stone to show it on. A huge thank you to ABC Marble for partnering with us and supplying a stunning range of slabs for the stand, including:

Three Days, Big Crowds, Genuine Conversations
The show ran for three days, and all three drew strong crowds to our stand. What stood out to us wasn’t just the numbers — it was who was stopping by. We spoke with people who were:
- Renovating their kitchens and bathrooms right now
- Building new homes from the ground up
- Considering a rebuild and weighing up their stone options
- Simply passionate about natural stone and wanted to know how to look after it
Across the board, these were people who genuinely valued the beauty of natural stone and understood it as an investment worth protecting — which made for some of the most engaged, informed conversations we’ve had at a show yet.
